PILOTS

Allied Pilots are designed to be highly reliable and very efficient to operate. Unlike older Pilots, our pilots provide a highly stable flame and optimal fuel efficiency. Allied Pilots are constructed of premium alloys and provide an ultra-long service life reducing greatly the frequency of turnarounds for flare maintenance. Our Pilot burners are designed to remain lit in high winds while using 50% less fuel. Pilot ignition is accomplished by electronic arc ignition or traditional flame front systems. Flared gases are reliably ignited by the flame retainer in the top of the flare. It slows and diverts a fraction of the flared gas toward the pilot burners so that both low and high flow rates are directed into the ignition zone for stable, complete combustion.

FLARETIPS

Allied flaretips are equipped with flame spoilers, which reduce flame impingement (flame-lick) by breaking the air vortex on the downwind side of the flaretip. This eliminates the tendency of burning gas to drop below the flaretip supports. The spoilers also "shield the tip" from flame-lick to extend service life. In addition to using proven alloys, fabrication methods and innovative design engineering, Allied uses new, more efficiently designed purge seals, pilot burners and ignitors to reduce the amount of gases used to purge the flare and fuel pilots. This can save as much as $30,000 per year.
